We suggest that you place the A4 lights back to back so that one way they show the green person walking lit and the other way they show the red person standing lit. You can then role play with the children pressing the button and then waiting for the green man. An adult can then flip the sign from red to green after an appropriate amount of time. Don’t forget to remind children to only cross the road when holding hands with an adult. You may like to include this in your role-play.

World Bicycle Day
World Bicycle Day is celebrated annually on 3rd June. Established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2018, this day recognises the bicycle as a simple, affordable, clean, and environmentally sustainable means of transportation. It highlights the role of cycling in promoting health, reducing carbon emissions, and fostering sustainable development.
Significance of World Bicycle Day

National Walking Month
National Walking Month is an effort to get everyone walking as much as possible.
According to Living Streets: “Walking is an easy and accessible way to improve physical and mental health and a 20-minute walk can reduce the risk of a number of preventable health conditions, including certain cancers, depression, heart disease and Type 2 diabetes.
