Why not use this fun farm animals and their young puzzle game to introduce your children to or consolidate their knowledge of farm animals? Cut each puzzle along the line in the middle and invite your children to match each farm animal with its offspring. Why not extend learning by discussing similarities and differences between the older and younger animals and also between the different types of animals? Extend children’s vocabulary by describing animal body parts such as tail, hooves, paws, fur, snout, etc. Ask questions such as ‘Which animal has the longest/shortest tail?’

Emoji Emotion Cards to be used for a variety of purposes.
They can be used as part of a display, given to individual children to enable them to voluntarily express their feelings or as a way to respond to adult questioning in discussions about how various situations may make us feel (1:1 or group).
They could be used in whole class, group or 1:1 to prompt role play depicting situations which evoke a specific emotion and this can then lead to discussions about how to deal with the emotion in question.

It can often be difficult for children (and anyone) to deal with feelings of worry and anxiety. Once these feelings become overwhelmingly strong, it can be difficult to get passed them.
These 2 sheets are designed for children and adults to discuss what helps a particular child to feel happy when they are worried. This could be things like cuddling a particular soft toy, colouring, playing Lego, reading a book, etc. Once strategies have been decided, the child could make marks in the box(es) that will remind them of this strategy when they need to use it. Alternatively, adults may create picture prompts to place in the box(es).

We have decided to focus on the most iconic and distinct looking birds you may see in a UK Garden in order to encourage young children to look closely at clear similarities and differences between a handful of birds, rather than confuse them with too many. Ideal for 1-6 year olds. Magpie, Blackbird, Robin, Blue Tit and Pigeon.

These endless puzzles are perfect to show the cyclic nature of life cycles. For example in the first instance the frog puzzle may be placed in the order ‘frogspawn’, ‘tadpole’, ‘froglet’ and then ‘frog’. To demonstrate to children that the frog then lays frogspawn, the ‘frogspawn’ piece may be brought to connect with the ‘frog’ piece at the end and thus continuing the cycle. This process can continue for as long as you like, bringing the ‘tadpole’ piece to then end and then the ‘froglet’ piece and so on!

2D shapes in the environment display/prompt posters.
Use as part of a display area to enrich your setting environment, during an activity input or tuff spot activity as a stimulus.
Great for giving children a broader understanding of what e.g. a ‘triangle’ is and how the mathematical shape translates to objects around us in the ‘real world’.
Can children build on the knowledge gained by the posters and find shapes in their own environments?

Numbers 1-10 (and corresponding number of spots/buttons for 1:1 correspondence counting) on gingerbread men.
Ideas…
Create a gingerbread number line.
Place appropriate number gingerbread men for your child(ren) in a tuff spot along with Christmas themed loose parts. Can children count out the correct number of loose parts to give their gingerbread man?
Play an ordering game…Can you place the gingerbread men in the right order? Or perhaps play which gingerbread man is missing? After placing the gingerbread men in order, take one away. Can your child(ren) work out which one is missing?

This hedgehog subitising (subitizing) game encourages children to spot the hedgehogs with the appropriate number of dots (in different formations). ‘How quickly can we match all of the hedgehogs to the correct piles of cosy leaves?’
You may want to add an element of challenge with a timer, e.g. ‘Can we get all of the hedgehogs to their safe hiding spots before the timer runs out?’ (We would advise beginning without a timer and then only adding this element to progress the game once children are becoming confident. Start with a time which is definitely achievable.)
Choose the appropriate pack for your child(ren): Subitising to 3, 5 or 10. Other 2 packs available here.

The children are to be encouraged to say how many dots there are straight away with no counting. They could use these independently and self-check or the cards could be held up by an adult as part of a group activity.
Print and use the cards appropriate for your children. 22 cards within pack for subitising numbers 1-6. Blank cards at the end to make your own if required.

Children with Special Educational Needs and Disability can often experience the world in a different way to most. Children with sensory processing difficulties may over- or under-respond to sensory information their bodies receive. It can also sometimes be difficult for these children to express their feelings concerning this.
This resource is intended to help children and their parents/carers/teachers identify, assess and monitor children’s feelings about and responses to sound, smell, taste, temperature, light and touch.
We hope it helps!

This display/activity is intended to help the child/children identify their emotions and the experiences that trigger those emotions.
At the start of the day, one emotion is to be highlighted and discussed with the children. The children are then encouraged to tell someone if they think they experience that emotion during the day. The aim is for the children to become more introspective of their emotions, and more perceptive of the emotions of others.
As a group activity the children have the chance to learn from their peer’s experiences as well as their own.
Pack includes:
• Changeable display banner with space for different ‘Emotion of the day’ cards.
• Emotion of the day display cards for happy, sad, excited, worried, angry, confused, scared, surprised.
• Small A6 emotion cards to be placed around the setting as a reminder of the ‘Emotion of the day’.

We created this ‘Why is Teddy sad?’ pack in order for you to be able to explore with children how sometimes something may feel wrong inside when there are no obvious cuts, bruises, etc.
As well as investigating the feeling of ‘sadness’ by talking about what might cause us to feel sad and what it actually feels like, this pack could also be a doorway to talking about mental health. It also aids in the mindfulness practice of recognising emotions.

As well as investigating the feeling of ‘happiness’ by talking about what might cause us to feel happy and what it actually feels like, this pack could also be a doorway to talking about mental health. In addition, it aids in the mindfulness practice of recognising emotions.
Keywords: feeling, feelings, emotions, emotion/emotional regulation/dysregulation/self-regulation, autism, autistic, mental health, wellness, colouring page/pages/sheet/sheets, empathy, role play, role-play, mindfulness

This display is intended to be an interactive self-registration display that can evolve throughout the day. The children can find and add their names to the emoji that expresses how they are feeling at the start of the day and then they are encouraged to change the position of their name as they see fit as the day progresses. It aids in the mindfulness practice of recognising emotions.
An adult can quickly check to see how the group is feeling and follow up on anyone who may have indicated that they are sad, angry, etc.
Two sizes of emoji are included so that the display can fit different settings. Large (p4-9) and Small (p10-12).
For name tags, print p13 as many times as needed.

The cards can be used as part of an input about emotions and feelings. The intention is that the cards would be held with the image facing the child/children and the prompts facing the adult. The activity should help the child/children think carefully about what each emotion feels like to them when they experience them. For example, when we are happy we may feel like smiling, dancing, laughing, etc. This process aids in the mindfulness practice of recognising emotions.

It can often be difficult for children (and anyone) to make good choices when they have an overwhelming feeling of anger or frustration. In order to talk about problems and express thoughts effectively it is often necessary to return to a calm state first.
These 2 sheets are designed for children and adults to discuss what helps a particular child to feel happy/calm again. This could be things like cuddling a particular soft toy, colouring, playing Lego, sitting in the reading corner, etc. Once strategies have been decided, the child could make marks in the boxes that will remind them of this strategy when they need to use it. These playdough mats are perfect for gaining an insight into the day to day feelings of those in your care. Useful as a tool to explore feelings 1:1 with a child. However, they may be especially useful as a fine motor activity within a setting/school which also allows adults to tell at a glance the feelings of children within a group. This could be a particularly beneficial tool in assessing the feelings of those settling into a new setting. In addition, it aids in the mindfulness practice of recognising emotions.

The aim of this activity is for the children to hear the distinct difference between loud and quiet.
Show the Loud and Quiet cards to the children. Explain that when the ‘Loud’ card is raised, they can make lots of loud noises. When the ‘Quiet’ card is raised, they must be completely quiet.
Using a sand timer, start with 20 seconds of ‘Quiet’ followed by 5 seconds of ‘Loud’, then 20 seconds of ‘Quiet’ again.
Repeat or vary as needed.

This pack is designed to be used to organise a sports event for young children that can be scaled according to the size of setting.
N.B. Before starting, it would be useful to laminate the cards to protect them.
There are eight stations of sporty activities for the children to experience. Although these activities are not strenuous, a water-drinking station is included to get them thinking about the importance of hydration during exercise.
Each station is designed to last for ten seconds, but this can be altered if needed.
After setting up the stations with the cards and equipment assign a child or children to each station.
1. Get the children to look at the station card and ensure they understand what they must do.
2. When the children are ready, start counting as a group from 1-10. During this time, the children must continually perform the task on their cards.
3. After 10 seconds, everybody claps and then moves around to the next station (see overview sheet – p2 in this pack)
4. Repeat steps 1-3 until all stations are complete.
Enjoy!
