What this document is

This document is a six-week Preschool curriculum theme pack designed to support high-quality, developmentally appropriate EYFS practice for children aged 3–4 years.

The theme Journeys & Transport uses children’s natural fascination with movement, travel and vehicles as a conceptual lens for learning — rather than as a fixed topic. It supports children to explore ideas such as direction, distance, change, story and connection through play, language, exploration and shared experiences.

The pack provides a clear sense of curriculum intent and progression, while maintaining full flexibility for:

• child-led exploration

• in-the-moment planning

• SEND-inclusive practice

It is designed to support professional judgement, not replace statutory guidance, and aligns fully with the EYFS Statutory Framework and Development Matters.
