What this document is

The Beaches & Coastlines Mini Theme Micro Pack is a short, flexible planning resource designed to be used alongside your core Preschool curriculum themes.

It supports child-led exploration of beaches and coastal environments through sensory play, storytelling, vocabulary development and environmental care, without relying on themed role-play or costume-based activities.

This mini theme can be introduced within or between main themes, used responsively when interest emerges, or adapted for holiday club provision. It provides structure and depth while remaining rooted in play, curiosity and real experiences.

It is intended to support professional judgement, not replace statutory guidance or your main curriculum planning.
