What this document is
This document is a six-week Preschool Medium Term Plan theme pack designed to support high-quality, developmentally appropriate EYFS practice for children aged 3–4 years.
How Things Grow & Change — Nature, Creatures & Me uses children’s natural curiosity about plants, animals, their bodies and emotions as a conceptual lens for learning. The theme supports children to observe, care for, describe and reflect on change — in the natural world and in themselves — through play, talk, exploration and shared experiences.
The pack provides clear curriculum intent, progression and professional guidance, while remaining fully responsive to:
children’s interests and questions
emotional and developmental readiness
SEND-inclusive and trauma-aware practice
It is designed to support professional judgement, not replace statutory guidance, and aligns fully with the EYFS Statutory Framework and Development Matters.

This document forms part of our Preschool (3–4 Years) Curriculum & Pedagogy Framework, which is structured around six progressive, six-week themes across the academic year.
