Pirate Treasure Hunt Clue Cards designed for you to fill in and place small treasure cards (included) around your setting before game begins. Simply print out the cards that you would like to use (looking carefully at the sentence starter wording at the top of each card) and then write in clues which fit with your setting and children. We designed this activity with following instructions and positional language in mind and so it is intended that you read the cards to the children. Some suggestions for clue writing are included on the first page. We suggest that you hide the second clue with the first small treasure card to be found so that a chain is created. We suggest that you place the A4 lights back to back so that one way they show the green person walking lit and the other way they show the red person standing lit. You can then role play with the children pressing the button and then waiting for the green man. An adult can then flip the sign from red to green after an appropriate amount of time. Don’t forget to remind children to only cross the road when holding hands with an adult. You may like to include this in your role-play.

This role-play activity pack is designed to introduce children to the idea of an election, and the decision process involved in voting.
It is completely non-partisan and unrelated to any real-world political parties/views.
1. An adult reads out the ‘pitch’ from each fictitious candidate and then the children are encouraged to discuss anything they might not understand about the proposals, asking the impartial adult for guidance. Let them know that their vote will be secret, but they can talk about it if they wish.
2. (A possible extension at this point could be to get the children to think about their own views and the views of others. For example, a child may think they would vote for the second candidate because they dislike painting. However, all of their friends may love painting. What is best for the group?)
3. Show the children one of the election voting forms and relate the images to the candidates discussed. Show them the process of going to the Polling Station, getting the form, marking an X in just one box, folding the paper in half and putting in the ballot box.
4. As the adult removes the forms from the ballot box and announces the votes for each candidate, the tally sheet can be filled in to find the winner!
5. (Second possible extension - the children can fill in their own tally sheets to count the votes!)

‘Our Favourite/Favorite Sandwiches’ Pictogram Chart is designed for children to not only think about their favourite sandwich, but also realise that others may not have the same favourite. In addition, children begin to learn about simple graphs and charts.
Ideal for use in a classroom, preschool, nursery or childminder setting. Children do not have to necessarily complete the activity at the same time, but a chart can be added to a display and individual children can add their own favourites at appropriate times.
Simply place the large sandwich images in a horizontal line to form the base of the chart and children can add their own favourite smaller sandwich above to create the vertical lines of a chart.
The lengths of the lines can be compared and number of sandwiches on each can be counted to find totals. Questions such as ‘How many children like ham and cheese?’ may be asked. To really extend mathematical thinking, questions such as ‘How many more children like salad than the jam?’ could be delved into.

This colour matching set may be used in many different ways. Here are a few examples…
You may like to cut out and laminate the mats and separate cards to create an invitation to play for your child(ren). Children will naturally want to match the objects and colours, for example placing the blue cup card onto the corresponding blue cup on the teddy bear mat.
Play games with the children, perhaps putting things in the wrong place yourself, saying ‘Oh silly me! That’s not a green cup, it’s a red cup!’ all the while reinforcing the names of the colours.
As a cut and stick activity for individual use.
Give a specific colour mat to your child and encourage them to find the colour cards to match with the mat.

Help your toothbrush to clean the teeth with this fun and engaging Letters and Sounds game. Two different boards to choose from - one for Phase 2 Sounds and another for Phase 3 Sounds. Dice required. Children choose a toothbrush to place on the teeth that need cleaning at the top of the board, roll the dice and move the appropriate number of sound squares towards the clean teeth at the bottom. When they land on a sound square they can practise saying the sound. Have fun!
