Easter Egg Hunt Clue Cards designed for you to fill in and place eggs around your setting before game begins. Simply print out the cards that you would like to use (looking carefully at the sentence starter wording at the top of each card) and then write in clues which fit with your setting and children. This pack is designed to be used to organise a sports event for young children that can be scaled according to the size of setting.
N.B. Before starting, it would be useful to laminate the cards to protect them.
There are eight stations of sporty activities for the children to experience. Although these activities are not strenuous, a water-drinking station is included to get them thinking about the importance of hydration during exercise.
Each station is designed to last for ten seconds, but this can be altered if needed.
After setting up the stations with the cards and equipment assign a child or children to each station.
1. Get the children to look at the station card and ensure they understand what they must do.
2. When the children are ready, start counting as a group from 1-10. During this time, the children must continually perform the task on their cards.
3. After 10 seconds, everybody claps and then moves around to the next station (see overview sheet – p2 in this pack)
4. Repeat steps 1-3 until all stations are complete.

Fun scavenger hunt game for in or outdoors!
Fairy cards (Minibeast Fairy, Water Fairy, Tree Fairy, Fruit Fairy, Flower Fairy & Earth Fairy) are designed to be hidden for children to find.
You may like to simply encourage your children to search until they find all six fairies.
Alternatively (or after), for an additional challenge, you may like to draw children’s attention to the colours, shapes and numbers on each card. Why not challenge your children to find the card with a specific shape on it? We have also included sets of cards with the relevant numbers, shapes and colours on within the pack, in order that you may select a card to give you a particular child or they may self select a challenge for themselves. Fireworks sound cards to encourage children’s sense of rhythm and enjoyment of making sounds. Cards are different lengths to show the duration of each sound. You could introduce the sounds to the children first, for example getting them to say the long sound ‘zoooooom’ a few times in a row. Then showing them that the ‘bang’ sound is shorter and two bangs are equal to one zoooooom! You could follow this by showing the cards so that they have a visual cue as you develop different rhythms with them.

‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ themed size ordering pictures. Intended to be cut out (and ideally laminated) for use by children in repeatable size ordering activities. If you have access to a fuzzy felt board, why not stick velcro tabs on the back so that children can move them around on the board?
Alternatively use them as a cut and stick activity (to also strengthen fine motor skills) for the children to take home and discuss with their families using words such as ‘big, small, medium sized’ or ‘small, smaller, smallest, big, bigger, biggest’.
Differentiate for individual children by using just 1 or 2 of the pictures for comparison e.g to focus on the words ‘big’ and ‘small’ or use all of the pictures to allow for greater variation of comparative language.

Signs to be used as part of a ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ display/role-play area, plus sorting activity. Why not place the cards on separate tables as an activity? Children can collect objects from around the room which they think are ‘big/large’, ‘middle/medium-sized’ and ‘small’ and place them on the appropriate table. Discuss how size is relative. For example you could hold up two toy aeroplanes, one to fit in the palm of your hand and the other large enough for small world characters to fit inside. Invite children to agree that one is big and the other is small. However, what if we had a real aeroplane here, how would that change the words we used to describe the three aeroplanes?

Can the children match the correct parts of each life cycle and then place them in the correct order? Perhaps the frog, butterfly and chicken could be placed on the table face up and the rest face down. Children could take it in turns to turn over cards and place them next to the correct creature. The cards could also be used as a basis for communication and language development, first naming the cards and then describing. More challenging questions could be e.g. ‘How do you think a butterfly moves?’ ‘How is that different to how a caterpillar moves? ‘

Use these ‘Growing Bean Cards’ as part of a display or invitation to play activity. Children may enjoy moving the cards around to place them in the correct order to show how the bean grows into a plant. Shrunk down they could become part of an individual take home cut and stick activity with an extension that children could write the numbers 1-6 on each picture to further demonstrate their understanding of the order. Use in the same ways as the full colour version with the added elements of colour choice, fine motor control and the possibility of ordering the pictures and sticking them to a separate sheet to enable the child to take the final product home. In sharing their learning experience with those at home, children will further consolidate their knowledge whilst explaining it to others.
