What this document is
This document is a set of in-the-moment prompt cards designed to support practitioners working with babies aged 0–18 months to respond sensitively, confidently and purposefully during everyday care, play and interaction.
The prompts focus on adult language, attunement and interaction, helping practitioners narrate, mirror, comfort, extend learning and support regulation in ways that align with how babies learn. The cards are grounded in EYFS principles and birth-to-three pedagogy, placing relationships, responsiveness and communication at the centre of practice.
These cards are intended as professional reminders, not scripts. They support adult reflection and responsiveness and do not replace professional judgement or statutory guidance.
