What this document is

This document provides guidance on planning for, delivering and articulating high-quality outdoor and community learning within childminding practice.

It explains how learning beyond the home environment forms a core part of the EYFS curriculum for childminders and supports practitioners to use local outdoor spaces and community environments intentionally. The guidance validates outdoor and community learning as legitimate EYFS provision and helps childminders explain its purpose, value and impact clearly during inspection.

This document supports professional judgement and does not replace the EYFS statutory framework or official guidance.
