What this document is
This document provides a set of light-touch reflective prompts to support in-the-moment planning within childminding practice.
It validates responsive, real-time decision-making as high-quality EYFS practice and explains how observation, assessment and planning happen naturally through interaction, play and routines. The guidance supports childminders to reflect on learning as it occurs, identify meaningful next steps, and strengthen intentional teaching without relying on written plans or retrospective paperwork.
These prompts are optional and flexible. They are not a checklist or requirement. This document supports informed professional judgement and does not replace the EYFS statutory framework or official guidance.
