Small enough to fit in children’s bags and won’t waste too much printer ink, but will still encourage communication and language development at home. Children may also enjoy sharing what they have learnt at school/your setting regarding the rhyme, whether it be actions, new key words or letters and sounds or simply being able to recite the whole rhyme rhythmically. It also may encourage children to share with their families insights into their day e.g. ‘We played a game where our teacher pretended to be a nursery rhyme character and we had to guess which one she was’, or ‘We all took turns using puppets to act it out!
