This engaging pack features:
A set of 6 different activity mats/sheets.
Designed for pencil control practice: Each mat has a charming autumn leaf outline filled with different dotted lines, including straight, curved, wavy, angular, and circular shapes.
Versatile use for one-off or repeatable activities: The sheets can be used once for a pencil control worksheet or laminated for repeated use with whiteboard pens.

Our Autumn: Fine Motor Control Leaves are incredibly versatile and can be used in a multitude of ways across various early years environments:
Pencil Control Practice:
Use the sheets for a focused pencil control session. Encourage children to trace over the dotted lines with a pencil, crayon, or pen, being careful to stay on the line.
Laminated Mats for Repeated Use:
Laminate the sheets and add them to your mark-making or writing area. Children can use whiteboard pens to trace the lines, then simply wipe the sheet clean and try again. This allows for endless practice.
Creative Mark-Making:
The sheets can also be used with different materials for a more creative activity. Children can trace the lines with their fingers in sand or salt, or use a cotton bud dipped in paint to follow the dotted paths.
One-to-One and Small Group Work:
The mats are perfect for use in one-to-one or small group settings, allowing you to provide focused support and guidance.
-
This engaging resource supports key developmental areas within the EYFS framework:
Physical Development (Fine Motor Control): The acts of tracing and following the lines strengthen hand muscles, improve pencil grip, and enhance hand-eye coordinationāall essential pre-writing skills.
Mathematics (Shape, Space and Measure): Children are introduced to and can talk about different shapes and patterns, such as straight lines, curves, triangles and circles.
Communication and Language: Children can talk about the different types of lines they are making and the shapes of the leaves.
