Our FREE Autumn: Pumpkin Numbers are incredibly versatile and can be used in a multitude of ways across various early years and KS1 environments:
Number Line Display: Print the large version (one number per page) and create a full number line from 0 to 100 around your classroom. This provides a constant visual reference for all number-based learning.
Flashcard Activities: Change your print settings to print four numbers per page, cut them out, and laminate them.
Use them for quick-fire number recognition games.
Challenge children to put a sequence of numbers in the correct order.
Play a 'missing number' game where you remove a card and children have to identify which number is missing.
Hands-on Learning: Scatter the cards on the floor and have children find a specific number you call out. This combines physical movement with number recognition.
Mathematical Concepts: The pumpkins are a great visual to help with counting, ordering, and even simple addition and subtraction by moving along the number line.
Differentiated Learning: You can use a smaller selection of the numbers for younger children (e.g., 0-10 or 0-20) and the full range for older or more confident children.
Number Formation: The space inside the numerals can be utilised for early number formation activities. The printed sheets can be used for finger tracing or mark making with pencils or crayons. Alternatively, once laminated, various media such as playdough, loose parts and whiteboard pens may be used.

EYFS Framework:
Mathematics (Number): Children learn to count reliably with numbers from 1 to 20 and beyond. They recognise numerals 1 to 20 and use them to represent quantities. This resource provides a clear visual to support these skills.
Physical Development (Gross Motor Skills): A large number line display can encourage children to move around the classroom, pointing to numbers and counting as they go.
Physical Development (Fine Motor Skills): Number formation activities develop fine motor skills.
-
KS1 Curriculum:
Mathematics (Number and Place Value): Children can count to and across 100, both forwards and backwards, and read and write numbers from 1 to 100 in numerals. They can also identify and represent numbers using objects and pictorial representations.
