Our 'All About Me' Junk Modelling Challenge Cards are incredibly versatile and can be used in a multitude of ways across various early years and KS1 environments:
Creative Challenge: Place the cards in your creative or construction area alongside a collection of junk modelling materials. Children can choose a card and use the materials to create their model.
Problem-Solving: The challenges encourage children to think about how they can use different shapes and materials to represent a 3D object. This is a great way to develop their problem-solving skills and spatial awareness.
All About Me Topic: Use the cards as part of an 'All About Me' topic. Children can make models of the people, places, and things that are important to them.
Communication & Language: The activity is a great stimulus for discussion. Encourage children to talk about what they are making and why it is important to them. You could also ask them to describe their models once they are finished.

EYFS Framework:
Expressive Arts and Design: Children explore and use a range of materials and express their creativity and ideas through junk modelling.
Physical Development (Fine Motor Control): The acts of cutting, sticking, and manipulating materials strengthen hand muscles and improve dexterity.
Personal, Social and Emotional Development: The activity helps children to express their sense of self and their likes and dislikes.
