These cards can be used to aid non-verbal communication. They are intended for use by an adult as a way of asking a question (“Have you washed your hands?”) or making a statement (“Wash your hands please.”).

N.B. When introducing this mat to the children it may be useful to reinforce the link in their minds by showing real life actions to correspond with the pictures. For example ‘Sit down’ – demonstrate with someone sitting down.
