Twelve illustrated invitations for making, changing and revisiting small world stories. Primarily for Preschool and Reception. Keep familiar figures, blocks, fabrics and loose parts available throughout the year. Offer a card when it connects with children’s play, and let children choose who is there and what happens.

Leave the story open

The pictures suggest a situation, not a finished story or a problem with one correct answer. A visitor might arrive, a route might change or a character might find something. Children can use the idea, change it or leave it aside. They do not need to reproduce the arrangement, use every card or reach a particular ending.
