Mix Change and Explore
Illustrated invitations to explore materials and change through mixing, pouring, stirring, pressing and comparing. Primarily for Preschool and Reception, with selected toddler adaptations and optional KS1 extensions. Offer a small selection alongside familiar mud-kitchen resources.
Follow the play
Children can use an invitation, adapt it, return to it or invent something else. There is no recipe to follow or finished mixture to copy. Keep time for repeated actions and self-chosen play. A child may stay with filling and emptying while another explores how a mixture changes.
