What this document is
This document is a 1-week Toddler Mini-Project Planner for children aged 18–36 months, focused on Water Play Week.
It provides a structured yet flexible framework for delivering deep learning through one of the most motivating and developmentally appropriate experiences for toddlers: water play. The planner foregrounds Physical Development, early mathematical thinking around capacity, and Understanding the World through first-hand exploration of flow, sinking and floating.
The mini-project is designed to sit comfortably within continuous provision, with optional adult focus moments that enhance vocabulary, refine motor skills and support sustained engagement.
It is intended to support professional judgement and reflective practice and does not replace statutory EYFS guidance or Development Matters.
